I had a mixed experience at The Smith House in Dahlonega. The location is fantastic, right off the square, and the Southern food was incredible and served family-style. However, I ran into some trouble with the room I booked, as it was still under construction, which was frustrating. If you decide to stay here, just make sure to double-check that your room is ready and not in the middle of renovation.

My stay at The Smith House was a delightful blend of historical charm and good food. While the dining experience had its ups and downs, the ambiance and hospitality made it memorable. Unfortunately, I did encounter some issues with comfort during my time there, but overall, I enjoyed my visit to Dahlonega.

Though the hotel has character and is beautifully designed, I found the couch in the living area uncomfortable, and the thin walls reduced my ability to sleep peacefully.

I had a mixed experience at The Smith House. The location is super convenient, just a quick walk to the adorable downtown shops, but I faced some issues with noise and comfort during my stay. Overall, it’s a decent spot if you wanna be in the heart of the town, but be prepared for some distractions.

Rooms

I was greeted warmly at the front desk, which was nice, but there was a lack of communication about available rooms, especially since some were still under construction.

You can't beat the location; it's right by the old town historic square, making it super easy to explore the shops and restaurants.
Dining

The dining options were great, especially the pies, but I didn't have a chance to enjoy them fully due to the loud atmosphere.
Facilities

The common areas were a bit cramped, and the couch in the living area was just a two-seater and uncomfortable for more than a couple of people.

My experience at The Smith House was quite pleasant overall, with an easy check-in and a well-kept room that felt clean and comfortable. However, the initial interaction with the staff left something to be desired, and the noise from the outside could be a bit distracting at times.

While I had hoped for the signature family-style fried chicken I remembered from childhood, it seems to have changed hands and wasn’t as good as I recalled.
Facilities

There were plenty of towels, a good stock of coffee and water provided in the room, which was nice.
